Ana’s helpfulness and persuasive skills are certainly valuable qualities for an assistant general manager to have. It’s clear that she takes her role seriously and is committed to providing excellent customer service to potential members like yourself. In addition to her helpfulness and persuasiveness, I imagine that Ana also possesses a strong knowledge of the gym and its offerings. This likely played a role in your decision to join, as you likely had questions or concerns about the gym’s facilities, classes, and other amenities. Overall, it sounds like Ana is an asset to The Gym Group in Southall, and I’m sure that other members and potential members will benefit from her friendly and helpful approach. Congratulations to Ana on a job well done!

The only reason I go is because of Leon and the location Gym itself isn’t maintained, equipment is old! Theres no gym etiquette! no one puts back the weights, let alone weights in order! And I don’t see the management doing anything about it! There’s only a handful of people who go there to seriously train.. you’ll see people in jeans training!

If a new gym opens up closer.. I’d def move! It’s pretty basic but I guess it does the job! The reason I’m writing this review is because the assistant manager interrupted my paid PT session to ask me for a review! I’m also shocked at all the 5* reviews! I wouldn’t be surprised if people were pressured into giving this gym 5 stars!

The gym is very good and all the members are extremely helpful. Even the trainers are so friendly. One of the trainer Zoltan Gyuri is very nice. He taught us about every exercise and told us how to use every machine properly. He is so nice.

Great gym. I always go to this gym but it would be great if they consider moving the Fitness Machine to a different space instead of having it near the entrance as it feels uncomfortable when trying to weigh myself and have people going in and out of the entrance and seeing my weight 🤦🏽‍♀️

The gym itself has lots of equipment and fun classes that are handy to attend after work for a quick workout, but recently it has been getting very busy and it’s not possible to use any equipment or spaces.

I also started noticing more of the gym facilities broken down and left for months unfixed eg. The upstairs water fountain which is now causing a vile smell within the area, the females changing room sink constantly smells. I notice that the toilet paper isn’t refilled as much anymore and have to resort to using the blue roll or search the whole gym to find member of staff. I’m not sure if the benefits justify many of the downsides of this gym especially since my membership increase.

I have been to other pure gyms which are larger, cleaner and also in a populated area just like Hayes pure gym. It leaves me wondering why has Hayes pure gym has been left unmaintained?

Personally people in the gym are rude and hog the equipment. Although I shouldn’t expect much as it is a budget gym but I’ve had two incidents where the male had acted entitled to the equipment for example I wanted to use the 10kg to work out biceps and a group of 4 guys had it on the floor I asked to use it as they were not using it and they claimed they were still using it I wait and 30 minutes later it still lays on the floor out of use. The second incident is I wanted to use a machine upstairs I assumed this guy wasn’t using it as he had started walking around so I sit on it he comes back and I say sorry I didn’t know you were using it he gives he a dirty look as I get up and wait does a rep and than goes and uses the machine next to him and than comes back to the machine I was waiting for.

But yeah I’ve decided to change to a all women’s gym like in Mithcam UK area.

The parking is good, you have about 3 hours. The people inside are great.

I only ended up leaving this gym because of it being extremely busy at all times. I tried going during the morning , work-lunch or at night and I can’t even complete my workout.

Fantastic gym, with a fantastic environment. Toilet is not always in tip top shape however the rest of the establishment makes up for this inconvenience. Plus decent pricing.

I started training at this gym in 2019, and last week I ended mine and my partners membership without any regrets. I wouldn’t recommend PureGym to any and I wish I could rate them a zero.

Changing Rooms: It’s always dirty and smells horrible, with bottles on the floor or left on the benches, tissues, protein powder, and so many other rubbishes left around. The cleaners/PT walk in and sign the board to show they have checked and cleaned, but the truth is that they don’t care.

The lockers are used as a storage people lock their stuff and leave it in there for months. It has come to a point they had to put stickers on the lockers, which were left locked for months.

The showers are filthy with hairs on the walls or leftover shampoo bottles, and no one is bothered to clean the showers. The toilets get blocked at least twice a week, which takes them two days to fix. Sometimes, they must fully close the gym because there is no toilet access. Inside the toilet cubicles, you will find dirty tissues on the floor and stain marks on the walls.

The sink has black moulds with tissues all around it, and you don’t have access to a hand soap dispenser. The dispenser has been broken for months, so make sure you take your own hand soup. The disabled toilets have been broken for months and when you ask them when it will get fixed, they will respond with head office is looking into it.

Water Fountains: The water fountains hardly works and if it works you might get sprayed with water or it’s painfully slow to fill up your bottle.

Machines: The gym is big so they could do with adding a few more machines this would help during peak hours. At the moment, the gym has multiple broken machines and treadmills which haven’t been fixed since Covid not sure why it takes them months to repair a machine. The free weight area is overcrowded sometimes three to four people are using one bench which means a lot of waiting around until you get yourself a bench. Furthermore, people never put weights away, so watch where you’re stepping.

Mangers/Personal Trainers: The managers and personal trainers look depressed and upset all the time, and they don’t seem friendly. They go around telling people not to do certain things, but when it comes to them, they will do whatever they want, for example asking people not to squat without trainers and then you see them without trainers. If you have to complain to them about blocked toilets or broken machines, they tell you it’s not their job and to speak to the managers when you talk to the managers, they tell you to contact head office, or they give you a rubbish excuse.

Overall, the gym needs a better management system, cleaners and they also need a fast responding maintenance team to repair broken machines. I will personally not return to PurGym what’s the point in building muscles if at the same time I’m losing my immune system?

The Key Elements of Women-Friendly Gyms

When determining the best gyms for women, there are several factors to consider. Here are some key aspects that make a gym female-friendly:

  1. Women-Specific Programs: The best gyms for women often offer specialized programs tailored to their unique fitness needs. This may include women’s-only fitness classes, prenatal and postnatal programs, or targeted workouts for specific goals like toning, flexibility, or core strength.
  2. Supportive and Inclusive Environment: A welcoming and supportive environment is crucial for women to feel comfortable and confident at the gym. Look for a gym that promotes inclusivity, respects personal boundaries, and fosters a sense of community among its female members.
  3. Certified Female Trainers: Having certified female trainers on staff can be beneficial for women who prefer to work with someone who understands their specific fitness concerns and goals. Female trainers can offer guidance, motivation, and a relatable perspective throughout their fitness journey.
  4. Variety of Fitness Options: The best gyms for women should provide a diverse range of fitness options to cater to different interests and preferences. This may include cardio equipment, strength training areas, group fitness classes (such as yoga, Pilates, or dance-based workouts), and access to amenities like swimming pools or saunas.
  5. Focus on Health and Wellness: Gyms that prioritize overall health and wellness are ideal for women. Look for facilities that offer additional services such as nutrition counseling, spa treatments, meditation or mindfulness classes, and educational workshops on topics like stress management or self-care.
  6. Safety Measures: Women often appreciate gyms that prioritize safety and take measures to ensure a secure environment. This may include well-lit spaces, security personnel or cameras, emergency response protocols, and easily accessible panic buttons or help stations.
  7. Clean and Well-Maintained Facilities: A clean and well-maintained gym is essential for any individual, including women. Hygienic practices, proper maintenance of equipment, and regularly cleaned facilities contribute to a positive and comfortable workout experience.
  8. Privacy Options: Some women prefer privacy during certain workouts or activities. Look for gyms that provide designated areas or private spaces for stretching, warm-ups, or exercises that require more seclusion.
  9. Flexible Hours and Childcare Options: For women with busy schedules or childcare responsibilities, gyms that offer flexible hours and on-site childcare services can be a significant advantage. This allows women to work out at their convenience without worrying about childcare arrangements.
  10. Positive Reviews and Testimonials: Before choosing a gym, consider reading reviews or testimonials from other women who are members. Their experiences can provide valuable insights into the gym’s atmosphere, services, and overall suitability for women.

Remember, the best gym for women will depend on individual preferences, goals, and comfort levels. It’s essential to visit potential gyms, ask for trial memberships or tours, and assess how well they align with your specific needs before making a decision.
